Bioethics Consulting

«Science without conscience is nothing but the ruin of man».

Prof. Jérôme Lejeune

What is it about?

The International Chair of Bioethics Jérôme Lejeune provides guidance and advisory services on bioethical issues affecting human life, with the aim of promoting and defending the dignity of every person at all stages and in all circumstances of their existence.

We place at the service of society a new Bioethics Consulting Service, through which we analyze each inquiry with scientific rigor and an interdisciplinary approach, offering ethical and bioethical guidance grounded in a Bioethics framework based on respect for the dignity of all human life, especially the most vulnerable.

Inspired by the legacy of Professor Jérôme Lejeune, we support individuals and institutions in making complex decisions, helping them to act with ethical responsibility.

Who is this for?

Institutions and organizations

We advise organizations across different sectors in strategic decision-making, either on a case-by-case basis or through ongoing collaboration models:

  • Clinics, hospitals, and social and healthcare centers. Clinical ethics consulting services; guidance on the establishment of Clinical Ethics Committees; development of protocols related to the beginning and end of life, disability, and informed consent.
  • Research centers and universities. Ethical and legal frameworks for projects in Biomedicine, Genetics, and related fields.
  • Entities and investment funds with an impact on health and human life. Bioethical due diligence of projects; development of responsible investment criteria in health and biotechnology.
Individuals

We advise individuals in a wide range of personal and life situations, providing prudent and confidential guidance and offering clear ethical consulting to help them face complex decisions with serenity and respect for the dignity of every human life:

  • Patients and families, when facing complex medical decisions regarding treatments, end-of-life care, prenatal diagnosis, medicine aimed at the restoration of natural fertility, persons with disabilities, and other particularly sensitive situations.
  • Healthcare and pharmaceutical professionals, who face conflicts of conscience, difficult decisions in clinical practice, or protocols that conflict with their ethical convictions.
  • Researchers and students, on issues related to the ethics of experimentation, the use of biological samples, or the development of academic projects with bioethical implications.
  • Priests, members of religious orders, or consecrated persons, who require guidance for pastoral accompaniment in complex situations, the discernment of specific cases, or the preparation of training on bioethical topics.
  • Individuals who, in general, have questions about the ethical legitimacy of vital personal or professional decisions and seek clear criteria to act with responsibility and coherence.
